Access Statement

Introduction

Our self-catering unit is on three floors of a converted barn in a conservation area and has a spacious open plan living area, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please do call.  We look forward to welcoming you.

Pre-Arrival

• We have a website
• Bookings/enquiries can be made via email, fax or phone
• The nearest bus stop in the village is 150 metres from the entrance
• The nearest train station serving the Ormskirk to Preston line is 0.8 miles away. 
• There are accessible taxis on call eg Leyland Taxis 01772 455455
• We can arrange for shopping to be delivered on arrival

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• Car parking is at the side of the barn, 5 metres away from the entrance but passengers/luggage can be dropped off by the entrance.
• The car park is cobbled but is reasonably flat and even
• The entrance at the front has 6 irregular stone steps, approximately 17 cm high, 26 cm deep, 100 cm wide which lead to a landing and a further two steps to the front door.  The first flight of steps has a hand rail on the left and right and a grab handle on the left hand side for the second flight of steps.  The front door (hinged on the right) is 85cm wide and the key hole lock is 95 cm high.

Main Entrance and Reception

• Inside the front entrance is a landing 100cm wide which leads to the staircases.
• The staircase is 6 steps up to the middle floor and 6 steps down to the lower floor.
• The stairs are 17cm high, 26 cm deep and 77 cm wide.  They have hand rails on the inside.

Dining Room & Lounge (middle floor)

• Door width 75cm from corridor with a further step from a landing.
• The dining area is open plan with the lounge and kitchen.
• All furniture is moveable.
• Flooring is exposed oak with rugs.
• Sky Freeview and Teletext TV provided with remote control (also available are DVD, stereo with CD, radio.and free wi fi).

Laundry (lower floor)

• A utility area at the bottom of the stairs to the lower floor has a standard size washer dryer, which is front loading and ironing facilities provided

Bedrooms and bathrooms

1 (middle floor)

• Door width 75cm
• Double bed provided – 135cm
• Bed height 48cm floor to top of mattress.
• Non Feather duvets and pillows provided.
• Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton.
• Ensuite bathroom if required.

Bathroom & WC (middle floor)

• Door width 67cm
• Small bath with flexible shower over with vertical hand rail to the right of the shower controls
• Bath height is 49 cm.  Integral bath rails available on both sides.
• Toilet seat height 40 cm.
• Flooring is vinyl.

2 (lower floor)

• Door width 75cm
• Two single beds provided – 3ft
• Bed height 48cm floor to top of mattress.
• Non Feather duvets and pillows provided.
• Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton.
• Ensuite bathroom if required.

Bathroom & WC (lower floor)

• Door width 67cm
• Bath with flexible shower over with vertical hand rail to the right of the shower controls
• Bath height is 49 cm.  Integral bath rails available on both sides.
• Toilet seat height 43 cm.
• Flooring is vinyl.

3 (upper floor - accessed from the lounge by spiral staircase with 11 narrow steps)

• Door width 75cm
• Two single beds provided – 3ft
• Bed height 48cm floor to top of mattress.
• Non Feather duvets and pillows provided.
• Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton.
• Wash hand basin.

Self-Catering Kitchen (middle floor)

• Kitchen open plan with dining area and lounge, door from corridor 75cm.
• Worktop height 90cm.
• Oven door is drop down, can be accessed from the sides.
• Sink is 90cm high with cupboards underneath
• Hob is 90cm high and gas.
• Flooring is short pile rug
• Evenly lit kitchen with spotlights above work surfaces where required.
• Fridge with small freezer.
• Dishwasher.

Grounds and Gardens

• Small garden (grassed) with seating available across the single track road.
• Small area with table and chair adjacent to barn itself.

Additional Information

• Information folder is available with details of local amenities, equipment instruction leaflets and brochures on places of interest.
• Reasonable mobile phone reception.
• Smoking is allowed, but we prefer if you don’t!
• Pets and service dogs are welcome – please inform us on booking.
